Facebook has released a new recommendation bar! Confused, I was at first as well due to the fact that they already have a recommendation plug in for websites and blogs. They also have a recommendation feature built directly into your timeline so friends and customers can give you a two thumbs up.

But wait….the new recommendation bar has features the old plug in does not have. The new recommendation plug in allows readers to like the content, but also to share it with their friends. This multi-functionality was not active in the older plug in. This is great for creating a viral piece of marketing content. This is also great for seo purposes (search engine optimization).

A Hard Lesson In Poor Business Branding!

A hard lesson in business branding

Its no secret that a business cannot survive if its not visible to the community its serving. Many great ideas and business dreams have died prematurely do to the lack of public awareness. I have personally experienced the vast difference in public response to a marketing effort based on poor or proper business branding. I would like to share my story and hope it will affirm the importance of properly branding your business and marketing efforts. I have learned the hard way that scrimping the budget for proper logo representation can cost you more than you might spend on a few good banners and some promotional advertising. Check out the following responses I received from an employer and the business community based on branding.

I recently accompanied a roofing contractor called Chase Construction NW Inc. to two regional business fairs. The first event was held in Orting, Washington, called the Foothills Dash. Each vendor was to come with a booth to represent their company. Chase NW Roofing was accompanied by a roofing manufacturer called GAF.
